LoBoheme ~ Vintage Inspired Hair Accessories

These elegant vintage inspired hair accessories are becoming more and more popular and I love them more each time I see them! Here is a collection from {LoBoheme}, a small design team in San Diego (wife, husband, and dog), Lauren (Lo), Josh, and Tank Christensen. Lo is the designer and takes care of the creative end of Lo Boheme, with the inspiration and technological savvy coming from her sweets, Josh and Tank. I guess it runs in the family, because her mom is also creative! She makes custom ties for weddings, as well as custom made vintage handkerchief ring bearer pillows sold at her Etsy.com shop {Tux & Tulle}.

Miss Ruby Sue

Lori, a 35 year old mother of 4, is the designer for {Miss Ruby Sue}. Her company first launched in 2008 and has immediately become a recognized national label - Small Magazine, Good Morning America, The View, and the Today Show have already featured her work, as well as celebrity clients like Tory Johnson, author of "Women For Hire", Courtney Love (no description needed), Joy Baher, co-host of 'The View', Letitia, CEO of Dujior Magazine, Kevin Laur from Etsy Administration, Elizabeth Kartchner, Sarah Miller, editor from the well know "The Knot" Magazine.

You can now find her "Angles Song' and 'Anthropology' necklaces (the first two designs above) in select Anthropologie stores in the United States.

Miss Ruby Sue creates beautifully charming designs in bold colors and artistic patterns, giving any woman who wears it a free spirit and making them stand out among a crowd. For those getting married, she creates high impact jewelry - which is currently making its way into the "wedding world". These pieces are specially made without striking colors if that is not your desire. She will work with you to create something that will help make your special day unforgettable.

Nervous System Jewelry Design

The Etsy shop {Nervous System} was found by my {friend} who shared it with me know I would be intrigued. The jewelery art pieces are made using silicone rubber that is cut into an organic network of distorted ellipses. The shifts in direction and scale created a sense of movement and tension around the wrist. They are inspired by the complex forms of radiolarians - plant cells - or even honey comb. The white ring was made by building up layer by layer in durable nylon plastic using Selective Laser Sintering, a kind of 3D printing. These forms would be impossible to create by traditional manufacturing methods. The process creates a piece with coral-like texture, while the slight flexibility of nylon and airy design make it fun to wear. Nervous System creates unique, modern jewelry combining rapid prototyping methods with industrial materials. If you are interested in the process, check out this {link}.

Regine Pfanz - Jewelry Design

These are two of the pieces that I really like from the Etsy shop of {Regine Pfanz}. The rings are hand-crafted from sterling silver and complimented with colored resin - simple and stylish. The playful bracelet is also made of sterling silver and has two loops that are inlaid with hand tinted resin.

Isette's Handmade Jewelry

{Isette} - a typography obsessed graphic designer- created this line of beautifully crafted handmade jewelry. The ones I have shown here are made of black acrylic and are either laser cut or etched. I love the ampersand pieces...and well, I also love the Damask style earrings - her inspiration being Victorian wind vanes.

Rustic Yet Refined

I think this is a super cleaver and inexpensive way to keep all your earrings organized, protected, and easily accessible. Once covered in earrings, this can very well stand out as a piece of art on a wall or simply by leaning it up on a dresser or table. Earrings will hang on the strong but flexible mesh insert that is held between two solid handcrafted barnwood frames. What I love most about it is the rustic yet refined quality. Aside from the earring frames, they also have other wooden objects such as some really beautiful candle holders. All of this work is created and handcrafted {Paradise Hill Designs}.

Elizabeth Rosas Jewelry

Check out these beautiful pieces by {Elizabeth Rosas}, a jewelry designer in San Francisco, CA! I love these necklaces - especially the organically shaped linked circles. They are soldered together, hammered, and oxidized to give them that dark color. The contrast between that and the gold filled chain is perfect. The reason I like this so much is because of its uniqueness and the fact that each piece she makes will be slightly different - the beautiful part about anything handmade.

Nina Dinoff Jewelry Designs

I stumbled upon Nina Dinoff's jewelry designs on {Etsy} today and absolutely loved them! Nina began her career as a graphic designer for leading interactive agencies and as a graphic designer, focusing on minimal design and clean lines which helped her develop a unique graphic style. I think I was particularly attracted to these pieces for that same reason. I, too, am partial to clean "minimal" graphic design and design in general. This unique style is where her work as a jewelry designer evolved from. I have a true appreciation for work such as hers, largely due to the jewelry design classes that I took during my undergraduate career - I know the work that goes into designing and producing pieces like these. Her designs are bold, but still elegant - they are minimal in design, but stand out quite a bit at the same time.
